We are building the operating system for the physical world.
The team that builds it will define how spatial intelligence shapes the next century.
Why This Work Matters
Every consequential decision on Earth has a spatial dimension. Where to route power. Where to position forces. Where infrastructure is failing and where it must be built next. The institutions that defend nations, deliver energy, manage water systems, and move goods across continents deserve software that matches the gravity of their work. For decades, they have not had it.
Nexma exists because the software industry abandoned this responsibility. The best engineering talent migrated toward consumer applications, advertising technology, and social platforms. The physical world was left with legacy GIS tools built in a previous era, operated by shrinking workforces, and incapable of absorbing the intelligence that modern AI now offers. Nexma is here to rebuild what was neglected.
Three forces are converging simultaneously. AI capability has reached the threshold where machines can reason about spatial problems that previously required decades of human expertise. The cost of frontier models is declining by orders of magnitude each year. And the workforce that operates physical infrastructure is aging out faster than it can be replaced. The window to build the platform that unifies these forces is open now. It will not remain open indefinitely. Nexma intends to be the company that walks through it.
What We Look For
Nexma is not for everyone. The problems we solve span defense, telecommunications, cybersecurity, utilities, and logistics. The domains are complex. The stakes are real. The people who thrive here share a specific set of characteristics, and we are deliberate about identifying them.
We look for builders who cannot stop building. People who receive a high-level requirement, decide what to build, and ship it without waiting for a detailed specification. Nexma does not have layers of product management translating intent into tickets. Engineers here own the problem end to end, from understanding the domain to deploying the solution.
We look for low ego and high standards. Cross-domain spatial intelligence is among the most difficult problems in software. The work requires sustained collaboration across disciplines that rarely intersect. People who need to be the smartest person in the room do not last. People who need the work to be excellent do.
We look for conviction over consensus. Nexma takes positions and defends them. We do not convene committees to decide what is obvious. We do not wait for permission to act on what we believe. If you have a strong point of view and the ability to articulate it clearly, you will find that Nexma is a place where that is valued rather than suppressed.
AI fluency is not optional. Every engineer at Nexma works with advanced AI development tools as a core part of their workflow. This is not a preference or an experiment. It is a requirement. We believe the gap between engineers who have deeply integrated AI into their practice and those who have not is already large and growing. Nexma hires exclusively from the former group.
How We Work
Nexma operates as a small, focused team. Communication is written and asynchronous by default. Meetings exist to resolve ambiguity, not to narrate status. We ship every week. The cadence is non-negotiable because the mission does not wait.
Every engineer at Nexma works with AI-augmented development tools at the center of their process. One engineer with the right AI tools produces what five would produce manually. That is not a slogan. It is how Nexma was built. The entire platform was architected and shipped by a team that treats AI as infrastructure, not as novelty.
We do not optimize for comfort. We optimize for velocity, clarity, and the quality of what we put into the world. If that resonates, Nexma will feel like the place you have been looking for.
Open Positions
Nexma does not hire against a headcount plan. We hire when we find someone whose judgment and capability would make the team measurably stronger. If you believe you are that person, reach out.
